Hook: I’ve just had a sublime vision. All the jagged parts of my life, have come together to form a complete and mystical whole. An epiphany.
Smee: A “piphy” what?
From the movie, Hook.
Welcome to my Crafty Epiphany!
Greetings and salutations! My name is Carrie, and I have an addiction to art. Here on the site, you’ll get to see that first hand. There’s always something worth putting a coat of “Happy” on, and I brought plenty of brushes!
My goal for E.C. is to share my experiences as an artist, both good and otherwise; Learn from my techniques and happy accidents. I’ll also be documenting my findings about certain products, applications and methods, for the benefit of fellow artists looking for advice.
Since we’re on the topic of advice, I’m always up for a challenge. If you have a question, ask it. I can usually be reached by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or on my Facebook page. If I know the answer, I’ll share it. If not I’ll find answers, and possibly base a blog or video on that topic. Before you ask, yes…I’m “ON” Twitter, but I make my art-bitch maintain it, as Twitter isn’t my thing. Be sure to tell him what a good job he’s doing on the site…he needs the positive reinforcement 🙂
About the Artist (Me, Myself and I)
Even as a young child, I always loved to draw. I was always trying to find ‘just the right’ crayon from my superpak of Crayons. Art always just came easy to me, and it didn’t stop with Crayola’s ™ either; oil, charcoal, watercolors…it didn’t matter. If I could use it to make myself some happy, then I did just that.
Time left a boot-print on my backside, and there I was thrown into adulthood (I stomped my feet, every step of the way). No time for arting, and not much time for me.
Not that I had any reason to complain: I have a wonderful fiancé who loves me (as well he should) and a son who’s more and more like me, every single day. For the record: he loves me too. I love them to death, but geez…can we say “HANDFUL!?”
Fast-forward a few years, and I find myself watching some YouTube with Patrick. He’d been watching some of his Mother’s videos (Melissa at 70 Acres Studio) and found myself getting completely engaged! First with how great it was, but then I got hit with questions, ideas and ‘what-if’s’. It wasn’t long before I found myself down at the family farm, pouring for hours with Melissa and Patrick…it was the most fun I’ve had in years!
It really was a true epiphany, and I was hooked. Thanks to Patrick (He makes me call him my “Art Bitch”), who’s given me the freedom to create. While we’re on the topic: He created the website, and annoyed me for two weeks to write this…so I hope he enjoys it <3
That’s all for now, guys. I hope you enjoy my work, and benefit from my videos!
